[ET Net News Agency, 6 August 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$149.6 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$18.26 billion, or 12.21% of the market's turnover. There were 830 short-selling stocks. XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709) and ZIJIN GOLD INTL (02259) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.55 billion and HK$781.05 million, or 13.96% and 4.28% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 58.26% and 46.51% of respective stock's turnover.
POP MART (09992) and ZIJIN MINING (02899) registered HK$583.79 million and HK$559 million of short sales, accounting for 3.2% and 3.06% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 25.59% and 19.37% of respective stock's turnover.
XL2CSOPHYNIX closed down HK$6.24, or 16.02%, to HK$32.7. ZIJIN GOLD INTL ended up HK$3, or 2.33%, to HK$132. POP MART fell HK$5.5, or 3.41% to HK$155.9. ZIJIN MINING jumped HK$0.32, or 0.91%, to HK$35.52.
