ET Intelligence News (special report on the 28th) After the meeting between the Chinese and U.S. heads of state, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs last Saturday (26th) issued a document on the eight-point consensus achieved by China and the U.S., mentioning that the two leaders agreed Iran should fulfill its commitment not to develop nuclear weapons, and no country or institution should impose tolls on international waterways.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Besent said on Sunday (27th) on the Fox News television program that China has greatly reduced its assistance to Iran, and Iran is expected to deliver its final batch of oil to China within two weeks, after which Iran will have "nothing left to trade."
He said, "Currently, there are only about 15 million barrels of Iranian oil left at sea," and added that Iran is clearly feeling the pressure from U.S. economic sanctions, which prompted Iran to again propose reopening the Strait of Hormuz agreement with the U.S. (rc)
