[ET Net News Agency, 28 January 2026] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$361.52 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$59.87 billion, or 16.56% of the
market's turnover. There were 805 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$11.74 billion and HK$6.93
billion, or 19.62% and 11.57% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 35.87% and 41.07% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$4.91 billion and HK$1.45 billion
of short sales, accounting for 8.21% and 2.43% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 46.83% and 8.27% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.72, or 2.64%, to HK$28.04. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$2.7, or
2.85%, to HK$97.38. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.14, or 2.49% to HK$5.77. BABA-W jumped HK$3.6,
or 2.12%, to HK$173.5.
