[ET Net News Agency, 2 January 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$76.87
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$9.12 billion, or 11.86% of the market's
turnover. There were 732 short-selling stocks. BIDU-SW (09888) and HSCEI ETF (02828) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$889.13 million and HK$786.16 million, or
9.75% and 8.62% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
33.01% and 14.42% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and XI2CSOPHSTECH (07552) registered HK$554.55 million and HK$554.4
million of short sales, accounting for 6.08% and 6.08% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 8.96% and 76.32% of respective stock's
turnover.
BIDU-SW closed up HK$9.8, or 7.45%, to HK$141.3. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$2.24, or 2.45%,
to HK$93.5. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.6, or 2.32% to HK$26.42. XI2CSOPHSTECH declined by
HK$0.1, or 6.92%, to HK$1.346.
