五、強調自己的意見或回應

1. I would like to stress / emphasize …

     我想強調…

E.g. I would like to emphasize the need to approve this proposal.

我想強調批准這份提案的必要性。

2. Let me stress/emphasize that…

      容我強調…

E.g. Let me stress that using a travel agent will save the company time and money.

容我強調，找旅行社會幫公司省下時間與金錢。

3. Allow me to reiterate…

     容我重申…

E.g. Allow me to reiterate our dedication to reducing our factory's emissions by half in the next decade.

容我重申，我們下定決心要在十年內減少一半的工廠廢氣排放量。

4. We urge you to…

     我們很希望您…

E.g. We urge you to reconsider the contract.

我們很希望您對此合約能再考慮一下。

5. Sth. + bears repeating.

    …值得再次強調說明。

E.g. The story of our troubles with the case is long, but it bears repeating.

在這個案子上我們所遇到的麻煩説來話長，但值得再次說明。

　　＊善用轉折詞＊

　　寫作時常會用到轉折詞(transitional phrases) ，好讓語句、上下段落間的承接更自然，文章的脈絡也能更清晰。

例子 ：

● in other words 換句話説

● that is to say 也就是説

● to put it another way 換個方式説

● to clarify 清楚地説；澄清；闡明

● to demonstrate (用實例等)説明

● to rephrase it 換句話説

● to put it differently 換個方式説

Sample email:

Dear Mr. Brock,

I'm afraid I have some bad news. My company has decided to switch

suppliers. In other words[換句話説], this month's order will be our last. The decision was a financial one. That is to say[也就是説], if you can lower your prices in the future, we can discuss working together again.
