Info

"Glorious Voyage: Splendid Achievements of the People's Republic of China in Its 75 Years" Exhibition Series introduces the comprehensive development of contemporary China over the past 75 years. The series comprises three exhibitions: Leapfrog Development, Scientific Breakthroughs and Era of Intelligence, with the Scientific Breakthroughs and Era of Intelligence being showcased at the Hong Kong Science Museum. These two exhibitions highlight China's outstanding achievements in science and technology, illustrating the great journey of the Chinese nation from rising up, becoming prosperous, to growing strong, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Scientific Breakthroughs

Over the splendid 75 years since the establishment of new China, the nation's technological endeavours have leaped from non-existence to global prominence. The exhibition showcases the patriotic spirit and steadfast beliefs of Chinese scientists, while emphasising the brilliant accomplishments and key technological breakthroughs of the new China.

This exhibition focuses on three main themes: The Lifeblood of the People's Republic of China commemorates the 65th anniversary of the discovery of the Daqing Oil Field, showcasing the extraordinary contributions of geologists, oil scientists and workers to the development of China's oil industry and significant achievements in the energy sector; Silent Thunder introduces the remarkable achievements of the pioneers of the "Two Bombs, One Satellite" programme and our country's proud accomplishments in nuclear and aerospace technologies; A Chip-driven Patriotic Heart focuses on the breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors, demonstrating China's progress in fields such as AI and semiconductors towards achieving technological self-reliance and strength.

Era of Intelligence

In recent years, the rapid development of AI has ushered in an array of innovative applications, seamlessly integrating into our daily lives and profoundly transforming our work and lifestyle, from smart assistants to autonomous driving technologies. To deepen public understanding of this disruptive technology, the exhibition focuses on AI, offering a range of interactive experiences.

The exhibition not only traces the evolution and daily applications of AI but also includes advanced medical large language models, showcasing AI's potential in the health and life sciences sector. Moreover, it highlights the integration of AI with Chinese culture, inviting visitors to engage with AI in chess games and appreciate AI-generated artworks in diverse styles to explore the intersection of technology and art. A special feature is the exhibition area themed around the renowned Chinese science fiction novel The Three-Body Problem, with innovative mixed-reality (MR) technology, providing visitors with a unique cultural experience.
